The annual nationwide Business plan competition project of DOLE-National Reintegration Center for OFW’s in cooperation with the Integrated Seafarers of the Philippines (ISP) is now on its third year. It encourages seafarers and their families to submit a promising business proposal.
Exciting cash prize awaits for the best business plan. The competition, dubbed from Seafarers to Entrepreneur: The 2017 NRCOISP Business Plan Competition (Harnessing Seafarers Capacities for Business Enterprises Development).
NRCO Director Jeffrey Cortazar said “We encourage our seafarers and their families who were not able to join in the past years to submit their business proposal. This is definitely their chance to join the competition”
Unlike for the past 2 years only Agri-Business inclined proposals were approved, but for this year’s competition all start up Business plan proposal will be accepted.
“This initiative is primarily designed to foster development of new businesses in the hometowns of seafarers and their families thus contribute to the growth of jobs in their communities,” Mr. Cortazar added
The Submission of Entry will start on June 14 and will run until September 8, 2017. The Awarding Ceremony is scheduled on November 10, 2017.
Top 10 winners will automatically receive incentives and other consolation prizes, and the grand winner will get P500,000.00 cash prize, all to be put up by ISP.
Last year, the soft broom making business plan brought home the grand prize.
